No joy for Zulfahmi in MotoGP 125cc race in Le Mans

KUALA LUMPUR: There was no joy for Malaysian Mohd Zulfahmi Khairuddin in the fourth round of the MotoGP 125cc World Championship race in Le Mans, France, yesterday.
The 19-year-old started from 13th on the grid, his best-ever since he made his full season debut in the world championships last year.
But he was unable to stay inside the top 15 to get among the points and eventually finished the 24-lap race in 42:58.389 for 19th place.
Maverick Vinales of Spain denied his compatriot Nicolas Terol a perfect end to his 100th GP start by snatching a stunning victory in 42:00.505.
Terol, who has won the first three races, settled for second spot – 0.048 seconds behind.
Zulfhami had clocked a lap time of 1:45.629 on Saturday to achieve his best-ever qualifying result to date.
Zulfahmi has 11 championship points thus far but dropped from 14th to 17th in the overall standings.
But it is still a significant improvement from a total haul of four points in his rookie season last year.
