Decha seals overall title at Losail

Decha Kraisat ending the season with a total of 178 points.
DECHA Kraisat didn't win any race yesterday but did enough to bag the SuperSports 600cc overall title.
In the final leg of the Petronas Asia Road Racing Championships at Qatar's Losail International Circuit yesterday, the Petronas Yamaha Thailand ace, who led the standings after the earlier legs, sealed the title with a second place finish.

Racing under floodlights for the first time, Decha could even afford to falter in Race 2 after he was penalised for a jump start and suffered a DSQ (disqualified in his result).

Decha added 20 points to his standings, ending the season with a total of 178 points while Chalermpol was second with 176 and Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman (Petronas Yamaha Malaysia) third with 123.
Thailand's Chalermpol Polamai crossed the finish line first in the 15-lap race in Race 1 with a time of 32.29.801s, only 0.466 seconds ahead of Decha. M. Fadli of Petronas Yamaha Indonesia was third with 32:36.926s.

In Race 2, Chalermpol again prevailed with 32:27.759s, followed by Tatsuya Yamaguhi (China Xongshen Racing) with 32:28.140s. Third was Toshiyuki Hamaguchi (Moto-Rev India) with 32:29.009s.

Azlan crashed in Race 1 while battling with Indonesia's Doni Tata Pradita for fourth position. His engine was badly damaged and he had to sit out Race 2.

In the Team Award category, Petronas Yamaha Thailand came out tops with 229 points while second and third places went to Petronas Yamaha Malaysia and Moto-Rev India with 169 and 108 points respectively.

In the Underbone 115cc category, Indonesia's Hadi Wijaya of Kawasaki NHK Rextor MTR Manual Racing finished second in both Race 1 and 2 to win the overall title.
