RIVALRY REACHES GREAT DEPTH IN UB115

Rivalry deepens in the Underbone 115cc as riders take center-stage to welcome the 2011 PETRONAS Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) opening leg at the Sepang International Circuit this 29th April to 1st May.

This year the Underbone 115cc class once again will enjoy a strong rider presence from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines. The current provisional entry list released by Championship promoter, Two Wheels Motor Racing Sdn Bhd (TWMR) shows the opening leg this weekend will see a total of 29 riders both take up the grid.

Looking forward to defending the Underbone 115cc title would be Indonesian rider, Hadi Wijaya. Considered a veteran on the national front, 32 years old Hadi made a clear statement he is indeed the king of underbone following his success bagging six podium finishes despite the fact 2010 was his maiden year in the Championship.

Also eyeing the throne would be compatriot Denny Triyugo. Having joined the Championship in 2009, Denny left an impact concluding the season second in his freshmen year and in 2010, he missed the title again by a margin of 10 points (second). Fuelled with determination, the aspiring rider returns mature and stronger.

Meanwhile, Rafid Topan Sucipto proved that age is no barrier when it comes to racing and he will continue to do so this season. The 16 years old put on a good show shaking the top runners to finish third overall while Hokky Krisdianto, M.Reza Fahlevi and Fitriansyah Kete complete the top six positions respectively. However, the three riders will not be competing this year.

Best Malaysian rider was Mohd Rozaiman Mohd Said. The 22 years old first joined the Championship in 2009 but had to forfeit the season mid-way following a major crash in Indonesia which left him with a broken leg. He made a comeback last season and showed he has what it takes to compete against Asia's best Underbone 115cc riders to come in seventh overall.

The only other Malaysian rider among the top ten was debutant, Mohd Ramdan Mohd Rosli. By far the youngest in this class at 15 years old, Ramdan looks forward to stepping up his game.

Meanwhile Thai rider, Prawat Yannawut and Gilang Pranata Sukma from Indonesia completes the top 10 eighth and 10th respectively.

The 2010 season will also see some new faces. For the first time, there will be a Philippine representative on the grid, John Lery F Enriquez followed by two Malaysian hopefuls, Mohd Zaqhwan Zaidi and Mohd Amirul Ariff Musa. Others include Indonesians Gupito Kresna, Owie Nurhuda, M.Nurgianto and Kannasoot Sitthisena from Thailand.

Former SuperSports 600cc riders, Harlan Fadhillah and Sudarmono will also be racing in this category. Full provisional entry list below:
